As a screenwriter, I've amassed a significant trove of screenplays, some produced, some not. Often, the unproduced scripts are the most interesting because they offer a rare insight into the Hollywood development process. The backstory on this particular script, co-written by John Hughes and Tod Carroll (based on an original story by Matty Simmons) is of particular note, as it involves some pretty big players (and one filmmaking giant) who got cold feet at the last minute and demanded the plug be pulled on this project. The full history of the project is here, and you can download the pdf of the script here (FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY).
